Simultaneous Interpreter/Conference Interpreter Services PDF Print E-mail

Although both the simultaneous interpreting and consecutive interpreting modes will often be used within a court environment, the simultaneous mode will be the only mode to be used at conferences.

So, what is simultaneous interpreting? Simultaneous interpreting is rendering an interpretation continuously at the same time someone is speaking. Simultaneous interpreting is intended to be heard only by the person receiving the interpretation and is usually accomplished by speaking in whispered tones or using equipment specifically designed for the purpose in order to be not as obstructive as possible.

Our Vietnamese simultaneous interpreters have the highest level of skills with years of experiences. Since simultaneous interpreting utilized a tremendous interpreter’s brain power, it is always best to have 2 interpreters for any interpreting assignment over 2 hours long. In a conference, two interpreters MUST be used because it requires full time interpreting.

Examples of commonly used simultaneous interpreting assignments:

a. Conferences

 i. Business conferences

             ii. Government conferences

             iii. Training conferences

             iv. Company technical training

b. Court Proceedings/Trials

c. Company Meetings
